The story revolves around Tessie Coleman, a stressed-out mother, and her rebellious teenage daughter, Anna Coleman. Tessie is a successful psychologist who is constantly busy with work and planning her upcoming wedding. Anna, on the other hand, struggles with school, friendships, and feeling misunderstood by her mother.

One day, after a heated argument, they magically switch bodies due to a mystical fortune cookie (a nod to the original 1976 film). Suddenly, each is forced to live the other’s life:

• Tessie in Anna’s body experiences the challenges of being a teen—school, friends, and teenage drama—while trying to prevent Anna’s life from spiraling.

• Anna in Tessie’s body struggles to handle adult responsibilities like work, appointments, and wedding planning.

Through hilarious mishaps, miscommunications, and insight into each other’s lives, they gradually develop a deeper understanding and appreciation for one another. By the end, after learning important lessons about empathy, patience, and love, they manage to switch back to their original bodies just in time for the wedding.
