American Son 2008
The film follows Mike Holland (Nick Cannon), a young Marine from Bakersfield, California, who comes home for a short 4-day Thanksgiving leave before being deployed to Iraq. During his brief visit, he tries to reconnect with his family and friends while hiding the truth about his imminent deployment.
He meets Cristina (Melonie Diaz), a smart and kind woman, and they quickly form a romantic bond. Over the course of a few days, Mike experiences moments of love, friendship, and family conflict, all while carrying the heavy burden of his future in combat.
